Memorial website in the memory of your loved one

This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, a son, a brother, an uncle, a nephew, a cousin and a friend to so many.  Aaron George Miller was born in Syracuse, New York on October 07, 1974 and was taken from us on July 24, 2000 at the age of 25.

He was killed by a driver that was under the influence of drugs. This person had been his best friend.

Aaron lived his life to the fullest.  We will remember and miss him forever, he touched many lives and left footprints in all our hearts.

I would like to use this space to give my heartfelt thanks to all of Aaron's friends, my friends and family members who have found this site and shared their wonderful memories with all of us.  It means more then words can say to know that you have not forgotten Aaron.  Please continue to visit the site and continue to share your memories, I have so much more to add - pictures, Aaron's artwork, stories, memories, etc.  Please feel free to contact me at alissajh68@sbcglobal.net if you have anything you'd like to add to this memorial for Aaron.  I cherish the memories so many of you have shared with me about Aaron.
Love, Alissa

I made a Facebook page in memory of Aaron, please join ans share your memories and pictures of Aaron.

Please Don't

Please, don't ask me if I am over it yet.
I'll never be over it

Please, don't tell me he is in a better place.
He isn't here with me.

Please, don't say at least he isn't suffering.
I haven't come to terms with why he had to suffer at all.

Please, don't tell me you know how I feel.

Unless you have lost a sibling.

Please, don't ask me if I feel better.
Bereavement isn't a condition that clears up.

Please, don't tell me at least you had him for 25 years.
What year would you choose to have your loved one die?

Please, don't tell me that God never gives us more then we can bear.

Please, just say you are sorry.
Please, just say you remember my brother, if you do.
Please, let me talk about my brother.
Please, mention my brother's name.
Please, just let me cry.

Written by an Internet friend who also lost her brother

Perhaps they are not stars in the sky but rather openings where our loved ones shine down on us to let us know they are happy.

If Tears Could Build a Stairway,
And memories a lane,
I would walk right up to Heaven
And bring you back again.

No farewell words were spoken.
No time to say “goodbye”.
You were gone before I knew it,
And only God knows why.

My heart still aches with sadness,
And secret tears still flow.
What it meant to love you –
No one can ever know.

But now I know you want me
to mourn for you no more.
To remember all the happy times,
Life still has much in store.

Since you’ll never be for gotten,
I pledge to you today –
A hollowed place within my heart
Is where you’ll always stay.

Remember Me

Remember me when flowers bloom
Early in the spring

Remember me on sunny days
In the fun that summer brings

Remember me in the fall
As you walk through the leaves of gold

And in the wintertime – remember me
In the stories that are told

But most of all remember
Each day – right from the start

I will be forever near
For I live within your heart

His legacy
Aaron the son
Aaron was adopted by our parents when he was 2 months old.  His birth mother was unable to care for him and her grandmother assured her that she'd help find him a loving home.  That grandmother was my father's Aunt Vivian and at 80 years old she took him in until all the legalities were worked out.  She knew that my parents had hoped to adopt someday since they were unable to have another child after I was born.  I was only 6 1/2 a the time so it was all kept a secret until the day we went to pick him up.

Aaron gave my parents more then their share of worry and heart ache in his growing years but he was a very loving son.

From Mom:

One of my favorite memories is being invited to dinner in his first apartment - cleverly furnished and arranged from thrift store sales and donations to look really neat. Dinner was planked steak, baked potatoes, relishes - and Mom provided dessert. He did so well!

We also cherish the memory of his coming to paint our kitchen and bathroom quickly and neatly with promises to do the rest of the house and also scrubbing the kitchen floor on his hands and knees for Mom!

Aaron the singer/actor
Aaron played the starring role in Amahl and the Night Visitors in the 1986 production at the Salt City Playhouse in Syracuse, New York.  Aaron also played the part of  Von Trapp Brother  in the 1987 production of The Sounds of Music.  He played the lead role of  Toad the 1984 production of Wind in the Willows at TAFY, Theater Arts For Youth at Salt City Playhouse and he played a supporting role in the 1985 North Syracuse Summer Stage production of Oliver.

Aaron sang in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church Children's Choir and was a soloist accompanied by his father George on the organ at St. Mark's Lutheran Church.  Aaron also sang in the Liverpool Elementary and Liverpool Middle School Choruses.
Aaron the grandson

Aaron loved Bampa Docs chiropractic adjustments and took friends to him for help. He was only 10 months old when Bampa Frank died.  He took it very hard when Grammy Martha died, he was only 4 1/2 years old. He loved to visit Grammy Marie at Sorrel Hill.

Aaron the Uncle
For as long as I can remember, Aaron always wanted to become Uncle Aaron.  He would tease Michael and I all the time about having a baby so that he could be an uncle.

He was so excited when I told him that we were going to have a baby.  The day Alanna was born, he drove down to Connecticut to see her in the hospital. He had such a knack for making her smile and laugh.

On October 26, 2001 our son, Logan Aaron was born.  I was so happy to be able to honor my brother by using his name.

The hardest part about loosing him is all he's missing out on with his beloved niece and the nephew he never met.
Even though Alanna was so young and Logan never met Aaron, they always talk about their Uncle Aaron.  They love to send him balloons after they've smothered them with lots of hugs and kisses.

It's very important to me to keep his memories alive for my children.
Aaron the little brother

I've written several stories about the day Aaron became my little brother. When I have time I'll copy them to add as a tribute here.

As we became adults we grew quite close and I'll always cherish those memories.

Not a day goes by that I don't think of him in some small way.

More of his legacy...
